My Journey
Hi, I’m Judith Higuera, and I’m glad you landed here at eyecyclenyc.com. I live in Brooklyn, New York, and when I’m not testing a new gadget or brewing up a morning matcha on my rooftop, you’ll often find me wandering through flea markets in Williamsburg. My curiosity about how everyday things work has always been a part of who I am.
Before this site, I spent eight years working in the boutique fitness world — as a program coordinator for a cycle-studio chain in Manhattan. That experience taught me how much ease (and frustration) the “right gear” can make in a busy lifestyle. I hold a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from SUNY Buffalo, which gave me both the science of movement and a keen eye for design and functionality. Along the way I realised that the same clarity I brought to choosing the right trainer or class could also apply to the gear we bring into our lives.

Why This Blog
In 2025 I launched eyecyclenyc.com as a place where I share honest product reviews, real-world usage insights, and practical buying advice. I felt there was a gap in the noise of sponsored hype: so many products promise performance, ease, or lifestyle-upgrade and then fall short in everyday use. I wanted to create something different — grounded, transparent, and human-sized. My past niche in fitness gear and lifestyle set me up nicely to dive deep into how products perform not only in a showroom but in a living apartment, a hectic commute, or a weekend off-grid.
What You’ll Find Here
I review gear, gadgets and everyday essentials with one question front-of-mind: “Could I live with this and trust it when it counts?” I try to look beyond specs and marketing claims — I’ll tell you how something kept up (or didn’t) after weeks of use, how it fit into a real city-dweller’s life, what trade-offs it demanded, and whether the price made sense. My goal is to help you decide confidently, skip the junk, and find items that last.
My Promise to You
No gimmicks, no “5-star everything” just because the brand asked nicely. I commit to full-disclosure — if I get a product to test, I’ll note that. If I keep it long-term, I’ll revisit it. I aim for fairness: sometimes a product is great in theory but awkward in practice; I’ll tell you that. And I’ll always aim for warm, clear language. After all, I’m reviewing for people like me: folks balancing work, home, and the urge to make smart purchases. Thanks for being here — I hope you find reviews on this site that genuinely help you, and maybe even spark a little inspiration for your next upgrade.
